Age Cymru

Age Cymru is the national charity for older people in Wales and we’re here when we’re needed the most. More than ever before, older people are facing some of the hardest challenges imaginable. Some live in poverty or can’t get the basic care they need to live with dignity. Sadly, older people often have to face these issues with no-one to help or support them – loneliness is a daily struggle when you only have the TV or radio to keep you company. That’s why Age Cymru is here. Our vision is a society which offers all people in Wales the best experience of later life. Older people are valued, included and able to shape decisions affecting their lives. Our mission is to improve the lives of older people by delivering trusted advice, support and services. We use our knowledge, insight and experience to influence policies and decisions affecting older people.

A WI membership offers the opportunity to meet women in your local area in-person and virtually, to make friends and make a difference in your community. We campaign nationally on a wide range of issues and provide life-long learning and self-development opportunities for women in England and Wales.

The Electoral Commission (Wales Office)

We’re the independent body which oversees elections and regulates political finance in the UK. We work to promote public confidence in the democratic process and ensure its integrity.

The Politics Project

At The Politics Project we specialise in supporting young people and politicians to have powerful conversations that build understanding, trust and relationships and lead to real change in communities. It would be easy to think that young people have stopped caring about politics and that politics has stopped caring about them. With low youth turnout at elections and politicians finding it hard to engage young people, trust and understanding between these two groups can feel like it’s on a downward spiral. But young people do care about having their voices heard, especially on issues that matter to them. Sometimes they just don’t feel able to join the conversation and engage with people in power. Young people may feel disillusioned and uninspired by the decision-making process. They may believe they don’t know enough or think that someone else knows better. They may feel that their voice doesn’t count.
