How we work

One Voice Wales is a representational body.  

Each Council that is a member of One Voice Wales pays an annual fee. The fee is in proportion to the size of the community served by each Council. We support our member Councils and provide advice to them. 

Each Council is a member as a corporate body. The Council ‘as a whole’ is the member, not, for example, individual Councillors or the Clerk.   

All requests for advice must therefore come through the Chair of the Council or the Clerk to the Council.  This ensures that we provide consistent support to the Council as a whole. Our insurance cover prevents us from giving advice direct to individual Councillors. 

Councils should keep us up to date with any changes to make sure that we have the right contact details for each Council’s Chair and Clerk.
